Collection of data

As you access our websites, we automatically collect data of a general nature. This data (server log files) includes, for example, your browser type, your operating system, your ISP's domain name and other similar general data. This data is absolutely anonymous, is used to display the websites correctly and is retrieved whenever you use the Internet. The absolutely anonymous data is statistically evaluated in order to improve our service to you.

Scope and processing of personal data

In principle, we only collect and use the personal data of our users insofar as is necessary for the provision of a functional website as well as our content and services. The collection and use of the personal data of our users is conducted on a regular basis only after the consent of the user. An exception applies in such cases in which obtaining prior consent is not possible for practical reasons and the processing of the data is permitted by legal regulations.

Legal basis for the processing of personal data

Insofar as we obtain consent from the data subject for the processing of personal information, Article 6 paragraph (1) point (a) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) serves as the legal basis for the processing of personal data.
With the processing of personal data that is necessary to fulfil a contract to which the data subject is a party, Article 6 paragraph (1) point (b) of the GDPR serves as the legal basis. This also applies to processing operations that are necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures.
Insofar as the processing of personal data is necessary for the fulfilment of a legal obligation that our enterprise is subject to, Article 6 paragraph (1) point (c) of the GDPR serves as the legal basis.
In the event that the processing of personal data is necessary in order to protect the vital interests of the data subject or of another natural person, Article 6 paragraph (1) point (d) of the GDPR serves as the legal basis.
If the processing is necessary for the protection of a legitimate interest of our enterprise or a third party and the interests, fundamental rights and fundamental freedoms of the affected person do not override the first-mentioned interest, Article 6 paragraph (1) point (f) of the GDPR serves as a legal basis for the processing.

Fee-based services

If you engage fee-based services, additional data may be required and among other data, this can include information relating to the method of payment.
The use of the most current technology and encryption processes provides for a comprehensive protection of your data.

The data is used and stored exclusively for the purpose of fulfilling the contract and legal regulations. At any time, the right to information exists regarding the data, rectification, erasure and restriction of the processing of the data as well as a right of objection against the processing of data and the right to data portability.

Data minimisation

Your personal data will only be stored for as long as is absolutely necessary to provide the specified services and it is required by law. The users' personal data will be regularly blocked or erased at the end of these periods.

Google Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics, the web analysis service of the Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses "cookies", small text files that are stored on your computer and serve to store data regarding the usage of our website. The data generated by the cookie regarding the use of our website is transferred to a Google server in the USA and is stored. Because an IP anonymisation is activated on our websites, your IP address is shortened by Google. This is applicable to European Union Member States and other signatories of the agreement within the European Economic Area. In rare cases, the full IP address can be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened for the first time there. Google utilises this information to evaluate your use of our website in order compile reports for us regarding the usage of the website for us and to collect other statistical data. In this process, your IP address is never associated with other data stored by Google. The use of cookies can be prohibited through a setting in your browser. Nevertheless, this can affect the functionality of our website in certain circumstances. You can deactivate the collection of data by Google Analytics by means of a special supplementary programme for your browser (add-on).

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.

You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website or app (including your IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser add-on available under the following link tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

You will find additional information regarding the terms of use and data protection under https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/us.html .

Google Tag Manager

Through the Google Tag Manager solution, we can manage the so-called website tags via an interface (e.g. including Google Analytics and other Google marketing services connected to our online offers). The Google Tag Manager only implements tags, i.e. it does not collect any personally identifiable information. The following information regarding the Google services as they relate to the processing of the users' personal data is referred to here: Usage guidelines:
https://www.google.com/analytics/tag-manager/use-policy/

Google Remarketing

Our website uses the Google Remarketing feature that additionally serves to display individual advertising to visitors of websites that belong to the Google advertising network. Your browser stores a "cookie" that can be used to recognise you when you visit a website that belongs to the Google network. You can receive advertisements that are related to the visiting of other websites that also use the Google Remarketing feature.
Google does not store any individual data during the course of this. You have the option to deactivate the Google Remarketing function under: www.google.com/settings/ads. The use of cookies for individual advertising can also be deactivated. The following link describes how this can be done:  http://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp .

Google Web Fonts

In order to render our content in a correctly and graphically consistent manner throughout the browser, this website uses the so-called web fonts that are provided by Google.
When you retrieve a site, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache to display the text and fonts correctly. In this process, your browser will connect to Google's servers and Google is then aware that our website has been accessed via your IP address. If your browser does not support web fonts or prevents access, the content is displayed in a standard font.
You can find the Google data protection directive here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/ .

Social Plugins

On our websites, we use social plugins of the providers listed below.

The plugins are indicated with the respective logo.

The service operator may be able to obtain information and the personal data of our visitors through such plugins. A 2-click solution that we have installed prevents the non-obvious collection and transfer of data to the service provider. The collection of information and its transmission to the service provider is only activated when you click on that social plugin.

What data such a plugin collects once it has been activated and how it is subsequently used is not within our control. In some cases, direct connections to the services of the respective provider are created and the IP address and specific usage information can be collected and used. Service providers can also attempt to store cookies on your computer. You can learn about how these cookies function in the data protection statement/privacy policy of the respective provider. You can be identified by Facebook as a visitor if you are currently logged into your Facebook account.

The social badges of the following enterprises are integrated into our website:

Facebook, 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA
Instagram Inc., 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA, 94025, USA
Google Plus/Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA

Online presences in social media

We operate online presences within social networks and platforms in order to also come into contact with active customers, interested parties and users in this manner. Personal data is also processed outside the European Economic Area (EEA), but we have no influence over it.
As a rule, your data and your usage behaviour are precisely analysed by the respective network operators. Cookies or similar techniques or the storage of IP addresses are used for this purpose. The data is primarily used for advertising purposes and market research. In this way, you will receive customised advertising within Facebook or on other sites that are able to use the cookies, etc. established by Facebook based on your user profile.
As a registered user of the site, this information is also used independent of the respective device. Some of the data uses can be justified by a legitimate interest in efficient advertising via a globally used platform (Article 6 paragraph (1) point (f) of the GDPR. Because the respective network operators determine the technical platform, we do not have the possibility to obtain any potentially necessary consent from you.
